The very popular $5 T-32 CSA NOTE that features a blacksmith at the right side with a sledge hammer, anvil and tools, along with a young boy at the left. Printing done by Leggett, Keatinge & Ball in Richmond, VA.

Dated September 2nd 1861. Plate letter A on plain paper. Serial number 6943 hand written in red ink.

Certified by PMG to be in "CHOICE FINE 15" condition

This issue is typically found faded and worn, with repairs and/or cancellations, due to it being a "workhorse" note that circulated heavily early in the War. Only 20,333 were issued over the short period of November 15th 1861 to December 30th 1861.

This example is fully intact, with no repairs or cut-cancels. The orange overprint on the front is fairly dark. Numerous folds and creases are present showing this note did not just sit the War out in a bank vault.

Fully framed, with a full borderline visible, which is not commonly found. Numerous pinholes are present.

A note that is missing from many collections. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Price: $1,500.00
