Up for your consideration is a very nice 1860's $3 State of Missouri DEFENCE BOND. CHOICE UNCIRCULATED condition
Printed on paper watermarked "T.C.C. & Co." Large red THREE overprint on the front side.
This note reads:
"Under the Act of Nov. 5th 1861 to provide for the defence of the State of Missouri". Dark printing with very clear details. Crisp and clean paper. NO folds, tears, or stains.
These Southern states notes that were issued during the Civil War era, are always desirable. This high grade example should meet your expectations.
The language used on these Defence bonds was different then what was used on other Missouri notes. It is speculated that these notes were printed after the Union Forces had overun the earlier printers.
