A $10 note from the state of North Carolina, dated January 1st 1863. Catalog number Cr122. Encapsulated and graded by PMG to be in "CHOICE UNCIRCULATED 63" condition, with comments on the backside reading "Minor Foreign Substance".

Hand signed in two places at the bottom, along with a handwritten serial number of 143. Plate letter C. Vivid red "X TEN " printing on the front.

Dark details on the front, giving way to very nice eye appeal. No tears or ink erosion. No pinholes. Strong red color on the front. The backside is blank.

NO creases or evidence of handling. Nearly fully framed; trimmed just a bit tight at the left side margin. Light staining on the backside that does not detract much.

This note reads:

"The STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA WILL PAY TO BEARER TEN DOLLARS Redeemable at the TREASURY, on or before the FIRST DAY OF JANUARY 1866.
".

A southern note that was issued during the Civil War, and one that carries a lot of history printed on it. Guaranteed for life to be a genuine Southern States issue.

Price: $150.00
